BCECE 2021: Everything You Need to Know

BCECE is an acronym for Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination, which is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB). The exam is held every year for admission to various undergraduate courses in engineering, pharmacy, agriculture, and paramedical streams in the colleges and institutions of Bihar. BCECE 2021 Exam Dates

The BCECE 2021 exam dates have not been announced yet by the BCECEB. However, based on the previous year’s schedule, the tentative dates are as follows:

  • Online application form submission last date: June 2021
  • Online application form correction window: June 2021
  • Admit card release: July 2021
  • Exam date: July 2021
  • Result declaration: August 2021
  • Counselling process: August-September 2021

BCECE 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The BCECE 2021 eligibility criteria vary depending on the course and stream chosen by the candidates. However, some of the common criteria are as follows:

  • Nationality: The candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Bihar.
  • Age limit: The candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on December 31, 2021 for pharmacy and agriculture courses. There is no age limit for engineering and paramedical courses.
  • Educational qualification: The candidates must have passed or appeared in the 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as compulsory subjects. The minimum marks required are 45% for general category and 40% for reserved category candidates.

BCECE 2021 Application Process

The BCECE 2021 application process is completely online and consists of the following steps:

  • Registration: The candidates need to register on the official website of BCECEB by providing their name, mobile number, email address, and password. They will receive a registration number and password on their registered email and mobile number.
  • Application form filling: The candidates need to login with their registration number and password and fill the online application form with their personal, academic, and contact details. They also need to choose their preferred course, stream, exam centre, and reservation category.
  • Application fee payment: The candidates need to pay the non-refundable application fee through online mode using debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. The application fee is Rs. 1000/- for general category and Rs. 500/- for reserved category candidates.
  • Application form submission: The candidates need to submit the online application form after verifying all the details. They also need to take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
  • Application form correction: The candidates can make corrections in their online application form within a specified period through the official website of BCECEB. No corrections will be allowed after the last date.

BCECE 2021 Exam Pattern

The BCECE 2021 exam pattern is as follows:

  • Mode of exam: The exam will be conducted in offline mode (pen-paper based).
  • Duration of exam: The exam will be divided into two stages. The first stage will be of one hour and thirty minutes duration. The second stage will be of one hour duration for each subject group.
  • Number of questions: The first stage will have 100 questions (50 each from Physics and Chemistry). The second stage will have 100 questions (50 each from Mathematics/Biology) for PCM/PCB group or 150 questions (50 each from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) for PCMB group.
  • Type of questions: The questions will be of objective type (multiple choice questions) with four options each.
  • Marking scheme: Each question will carry four marks. There will be negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer.

BCECE 2021 Syllabus

The BCECE 2021 syllabus is based on the syllabus of class 11th and 12th of Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB). The syllabus covers the topics from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology subjects. Some of the important topics are as follows:

BCECE 2021 Admit Card

The BCECE 2021 admit card will be released online on the official website of BCECEB a few days before the exam date. The candidates need to download their admit card by entering their registration number and date of birth. The admit card will contain the details such as name of the candidate, roll number, exam date, time, centre, instructions etc. The candidates need to carry their admit card along with a valid photo ID proof to the exam centre. No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall without the admit card.

BCECE 2021 Result

The BCECE 2021 result will be declared online on the official website of BCECEB after the completion of both stages of the exam. The candidates need to check their result by entering their roll number and date of birth. The result will display the marks obtained by the candidates in each subject group and their overall rank. The candidates who qualify the first stage will be eligible for the second stage. The candidates who qualify the second stage will be eligible for the counselling process.

BCECE 2021 Counselling

The BCECE 2021 counselling process will be conducted online by the BCECEB after the declaration of the result. The counselling process will involve the following steps:

  • Registration: The qualified candidates need to register online for the counselling process by paying a non-refundable counselling fee of Rs. 2200/- for general category and Rs. 1100/- for reserved category candidates.
  • Choice filling: The registered candidates need to fill their choices of courses and colleges as per their preference and rank. They can also edit or lock their choices within a specified period.
  • Seat allotment: The seat allotment will be done on the basis of the merit rank of the candidates and their choices filled. The candidates can check their seat allotment status online on the official website of BCECEB.
  • Document verification: The allotted candidates need to report to the verification centre with their original documents such as admit card, result card, counselling letter etc. for verification. They also need to pay a part admission fee of Rs. 20,000/- for general category and Rs. 15,000/- for reserved category candidates.
  • Final admission: The verified candidates need to report to the allotted college with their provisional allotment letter and other documents for final admission.
