New & Improved Features Coming to Genshin Impact in Version 5.2 Update

Genshin Impact’s Version 5.2 update isn’t too far off with a slated release on November 20th, 2024 but we do have an early look at some of the new features the version update will bring to the game.

In all honesty, there’s a plethora of new QoL feature updates that will just make the experience in Genshin much more streamlined with changes that fans have been requesting for ages.

So today, we’re checking some of the new features they’ve included in their latest Developers Discussion to see what players can expect from the new changes.

The Treasure Compass & Quick Swap Features

The first major change coming with the Genshin Impact Ver. 5.2 update is to the Treasure Compass, which is now more versatile since it can be used in Time Trial Challenges and to solve Seelie Courts puzzles.

Additionally, they’ve added a new ‘Quick Swap’ feature which will automatically switch over your Treasure Compass and Oculus Resonance Stones to the region that you cross into.

This makes it a whole lot less cumbersome to manually switch over your Treasure Compass especially when you’re looking for chests in those areas that border between regions.

Upgraded Artifacts Management System

One of the biggest changes however is coming to the Artifact system with a few QoL updates that should make managing the dreaded inventory system a tad bit more inviting.

We’ve already had the ‘Auto-lock’ feature for Artifacts but it’s since been optimized to be even more helpful. This is thanks to the ‘Lock Plan’ feature which automatically ‘locks’ Artifacts that meet the stated requirements.

For example, if you’re looking for Crit pieces, you can auto lock select pieces that have ‘Crit Rate’ or ‘Crit DMG’ for your Circlet of Logos Artifact slot. The customization is pretty in-depth depending on what you’re grinding for.

The good news is have several preset auto-locked affixes so you don’t need to meddle too much if it’s too confusing.

Additionally, they’ve also added an ‘Artifact Astral Mark’ feature which essentially allows you to better manage your inventory. This lets you automatically lock the marked Artifacts and they will be given ‘display priority’ so they’ll pop-up at the top of your Genshin Impact list.

Lastly, they’re also adding a new toggle that allows you to quickly glance over the most recently obtained Artifacts.

This makes it much easier to check your newly obtained Artifacts without having to trudge through your entire hoard for that piece you just picked up.

Increased Base Damage Buffs for Select Elemental Reactions

One of the last biggest changes we noticed in the Developer Discussion is the Base DMG buff to a select few Elemental Reactions. This is based on how these reactions are faring in the current meta and the dev team decided they needed a slight pick-me-up.

The Elemental Reactions that are getting the Base DMG boost include –

• Electro-Charged (Hydro + Electro)
• Overloaded (Electro + Pyro)
• Superconduct (Cryo + Electro)
• Shatter (Frozen + Blunt ATK/Geo) 

Based on the list, Cryo and Electro Genshin Impact characters are getting the most use of the latest changes so it should be interesting to see how the Base DMG increase affects players’ use of the included Genshin Impact characters.

And those are the most important things you need to know about the upcoming new features in the Version 5.2 update. It’s a lot to take in but it does streamline the overall experience in Genshin quite a bit.
